Stream Stone: Contemporary flair with the beauty of stone

When the word "contemporary" is used to describe a tile, most people think of glass or maybe a porcelain tile. Very rarely are the words "contemporary" and "stone" used in the same sentence. Stone is a product that's usually considered traditional or rustic. What comes to mind when you think of a stone tiled kitchen back splash? I think of the commonly used rustic, tumbled marble. We are proud to introduce a product line that defies this stereotype: Stream Stone.

Stream Stone is described as "modern, sleek and functional beauty" and is available in field tile, mosaics, architectural moldings and decorative liners/listellos. The field tile is available in unique plank shapes 6” x 18” and 4” x 12”. Offered in 3 cool colors: Global Grey, Transitional Taupe, and West End White and in two unique finishes: brushed and honed. Note that the transitional taupe is only available in the honed finish.

Jeffrey Court, a California based tile manufacturer and “purveyor of fine decorative stone” recently released their newest product line this year: Stream Stone. This natural stone product line offers a linear, swirl-look that is adrift from the traditional natural stone product lines that many manufacturers in the tile industry carry.

The mosaics add an exceptional appearance to a tub surround, shower floor, kitchen back splash, fireplace surround, or decorative inlay. Want to make a statement in your foyer entrance? Inlay the funky “sleek” mosaic surrounded by the larger 4” x 12” tiles. The pattern choices available in the mosaics lend themselves to the contemporary style that Jeffrey Court set forth to achieve with this product line.

The greatest take away from a product line like this is that by installing one of these products in your home, your guaranteed to have a look that is unlike anyone else’s in the world. Upon first glance at these colors, they appear to be monochromatic with a muted tone however from piece to piece yet you will notice that many of the tiles have faint dark veining straying through. These fissures provide an inherent beauty to the stones in which no two pieces look exactly alike (see picture of architectural molding above).
